Requirements / Process to List Poems and Stories

As of February 12, 2006 . . . Poems and stories can only be submitted to Poetry Galore at its Waking Dreams and requires the following steps to do so...

You must register at Poetry Galore's "Waking Dreams.
You must list your first and last names in your Signature box via the User Control Panel once you login anytime after you are a registered member.
You must be added to the Authors usergroup, which requires emailing one of the following Waking Dreams' administrators requesting to be added to the Authors usergroup.

Note... While every attempt will be made to add you to the Authors usergroup within 48 hours, respective schedules of the administrators might result in a longer waiting period. (You can contact another administrator, if you haven't been added to the Authors usergroup after 4 days.)

Poem and Story Content Guidelines:

Please make sure your poem or story is ready for listing . . . meaning no grammatical errors of normal English wording and proper verse format . . . as Poetry Galore will remove any poems and stories that are found not to meet this rule. (Repeated listing of grammatically incorrect poems will result in an author's listing rights revoked.)
The poem or story must be in English as the translation page on Poetry Galore and free services elsewhere will meet the needs of most non-English readers.
You must provide your first and last name along with copyright year for your creative work for it to be listed . . . and for copyright protection purposes. (Specific details in Listing Poem and Story Guidelines)
No poem or story can be listed that is considered for individuals 18 years and older. (Repeated offense of this rule will result in an author's listing rights revoked.)
Poems and stories espousing illegal acts, even indirectly, are ineligible with listing rights revoked if repeated offense occurs. (Suicidal thoughts are included.)
Offensive and hateful poems and stories are ineligible. Also, no vulgarity allowed and should be altered with "----" with excessive use disqualifying poem for listing consideration.
Plagiarism and copyright issues will result in immediate removal. It is also up to the rightful owner to pursue any further action . . . as Poetry Galore is strictly a listing service.

Note... It is the author's responsibility to follow these very easy to follow requirements. (A warning will be issued concerning non-compliance with an opportunity to correct, accordingly . . . Revocation of membership could result based on the respective situation.)

Poem and Story Listing Guidelines:
After being added to the "Authors" usergroup you will be able to immediately start listing your poem(s) and/or story(s) in the respect forums under the Poet?s Avenue and Story Library categories . . . subject to general requirements and the following listing / posting rules.

Topic of Post must be? Poem / Story Title by First and Last Name
Body of Post Text Color and Style Options
Color - default (black) or dark blue
Style - normal, bold, italics
Title on first line ... Font Size - normal / default (12pt) to large (18pt)
First and last name on second line ... Font Size - normal / default (12pt) only
Poem / Story ... Font size - normal / default (12pt) only
After poem / story -- First and last name with ?Copyright yyyy? below name in normal / default (12pt) font size (see example below)

Comment On This Poem (Story)... It is advised that you add the following link below your name and copyright year reference, so readers of your respective poem can post comments about it in the Standing Ovation category. (Replace "Poem" with "Story" as it applies.) And once you have qualified for your own forum in Standing Ovation, you can modify the link so that it takes the reader to your forum. (See requirements for your own forum below.)

Optional Reason for Poem / Story... You can provide a reason / purpose for your poem or story below the Comment on My Poem link. However, please keep it under 250 words . . . Poets can even reference a link to an associated story that is located in the respective forum at Story Library.
Emoticons / Smiles are not allowed anywhere in the listing / posting of a poem or story in Poem Library and Story Library's forums. (These two categories are about displaying creative work without any distractions that could easily reduce the readers' enjoyment and intent of your words.) Banning of repeat offenders will occur.
Your signature from your profile is optional since your name and copyright year will already be listed below your poem / story. However, it is recommended to do so if you have additional information associated with your signature.

Hidden Private Forum Access
All those in the "Authors" usergroup will have access to a private forum where you can discuss and share among your peers. It is also where you will be able to get your Listed at Poetry Galore badge.

Your Own Standing Ovation Forum
Once you have... 5 listed poems; or, 2 listed stories; or, 3 listed poems and 1 listed story -- contact Guardian or D'Poet . . . requesting a forum be created in Standing Ovation.

You will have moderator control over your forum, but subject to oversight by Waking Dream's Administrators and Moderators.
Your forum is strictly for... allowing readers to comment about your works at Poetry Galore; interacting with them; and, announcing new poems at Poetry Galore and other interesting tidbits about your creative endeavors.
You cannot list / post poems and stories in your forum, but can add links to your poems / stories only listed at Poetry Galore.

Poem of the Month and Showcase Recognition
All Listed poems and authors are eligible for both and can learn more by clicking on their links in menus at the top and bottom of each page.

Notice about Poems and Stories Listed Before February 12, 2006
The respective page location of each poem and story listed before February 12, 2006 will not be impacted by the new listing process at Poetry Galore's Waking Dreams. And since these poems and stories were submitted with author's use permission and then listed by Poetry Galore . . . they cannot be removed. (Authors can only remove their poems and stories in Waking Dreams, as they list them directly.)
